CANCER AFFECTING LIVES
The best thing about being a stylist at Hair Therapy was the transition from being someone people just met, to being a trusted member of the family. In 2013, I met her niece, followed by her sister and in 2014 the pleasure of meeting Miss Ellen Conley-Green III.
The most impactful conversation we had was via IG messages last year. I was stressed about writing the newsletter and contemplating if I needed to continue. After 8 years of writing I was ready to throw in the towel.
Despite us spelling with our eyes closed, his message meant so much to me. It still fuels me today. It reminded me that if I reach one person the stories are worth sharing.
How wonderful a person must be to be sick and still make time to check on others. In subsequent messages she shared that she was proud of the mom I’ve become and happy that I travelled to Iceland with Issa.
It is with great sadness that I announce, Hair Therapy has gained an angel. Miss Ellen Conley-Green III transitioned on September 19th, 2023. She was a respected veteran and a leader, loved by her family, community and co-workers. I am grateful to have known her. In her honor I will be writing about restaurants and healthy food in the November Newsletter.
