The most recent brunch took place on April 15th at "In His Hands Massage Therapy" in Laurel, MD. It was intimate pleasure. The ladies I were greeted by the aroma of brunch. The staff for the day were all men and the ladies were all smiles.
After massages we dined with 90's R&B playing in the background. The table was full of laughter. The men kept the drinks filled and the table clear of used dishes. It was an A1 experience from beginning to end.
The next brunch will be a buffet at Liberty Tavern a 1PM. Click here for more details.
Can you believe it? Issa is officially 6!
I have been using the same products for years. The market is flooded with new options. If you missed my Facebook live on the 4 steps to washing you hair at home and how to get through the hair product shelves of Wal-Mart and Target, please check it out.
https://www.facebook.com/canda.lada/videos/1875344179204463/
Video Recap: Steps to washing hair (Cleansing Shampoo, Moisturizing Shampoo, Conditioner (also known as instant conditioner) if you have no time for heat, deep conditioner (when using heat to process for at least 20 min)
Tips: Brand loyalty is not required. Not skipping the steps to washing is most important.
HIT LIST BRANDS: Design Essentials, Mielle, The Doux, The Mane Choice. I heard a lot about them all and I am very curious.
These sample sizes were 2.97 each. I could not find the conditioner in the sample size.
TESTING NEW PRODUCTS ON A BUDGET: THESE ITEMS WERE MARKED DOWN TO 5 DOLLARS on clearance! I went back the next day and they were all gone! my hair was very clean and soft! Mane choice has endless scent options. I mean endless. I was just happy to get my hands on something within the line.
Tip: Detox and Cleansing shampoo is the same thing. The purpose to remove dirt gel etc. Do not be shocked the hair will feel dry while shampooing. I will not feel super soft again until you deep condition your hair.
What about post wash? Really depends on what you plane to do. I like to use ONE product only after washing my hair. A butter or mouse for twisting, an oil and serum for straightening. I hate using a million products. One this day in the spirit of new things I tried a leave in and curls gel. My cousin was in town and I got to use her products for FREE! i really recommend trying products for free whenever possible.
WOW this leave in is amazing!!! The gel was ok I still prefer creme of nature gel for laying me edges.
This brunch is unique. It will be held in a spa. Brunch starts with a 30 minute massage followed by plate provided by Chef Jay Wigs and a mimosa. Both men and women are encouraged to attend.
MENU
Scrambled spinach cheese eggs
Potatoes
Fruit Burritos

This place is the best hands down!!! The sandwich comes with pita chips and hummus. It only cost 5.75. SO far I have not found a place that has better falafel.
WARNING: It is market so the atmosphere is not that sexy looking. I suggest carry out only.

Petra Grill in Woodbridge, VA serves authentic Lebanese food, freshly prepared, at both of its locations in Woodbridge and Manassas, Virginia.

Click play to watch SLVixxen's Facebook live post about her upcoming make-up class.
The first class was held in 2016 in Woodbridge, Virginia. Many of the ladies went out after class to show off their new make-up skills.
Last year the class was held August 2017. Despite the pressure of back to school season, this class was truly a treat for all that attended. Offering detailed one on one assistance with, foundation application, blending techniques and information about the best make up dupes on the market.
In December 2017, there was an attempt to hold a second class titled, "The Holiday Glam Session". However, it was cancelled due to inclement whether.
Moving forward SLVixxen will keep the tradition of offering one group class a year in February. The annual February class will show you how to look fabulous during the commercial weekend of love.
Register for this informative and life changing class today. I promise you will love it! It is a great way to meet other Hair Therapy members and also serves as a perfect platform for a mother and daughter or sibling bonding.

I like the icing because it's not so sweet that your head will fall off. The cupcake tasted like a slice of a wedding cake cut off and molded into a cupcake. If you are a person that likes sponge cake, then this is the perfect cake for you! IT'S DRY!

NEW NAIL EXPERIENCE AT BEAUTY NEST
Nail Tech: Tanaria
This place is clean and cute. One of the unique things I saw was a cotton candy machine that staff was distributing to both children and adults. A heated neck pillow was placed on my neck during the manicure. My nails were in excellent condition when I left. A basic manicure was 26 not including gel.
My face has been a mess for the past two years. I have been trying several different face washes. They work the first two weeks and then I go back to having breakouts with scaring.
One Thanksgiving break I left my face wash home and used my aunt's eucalyptus soap. To my dismay my skin was clear all weekend, but really dry because I did not dilute the soap. I also started using the soap to clean my make- up brushes.
After a few months I started to explore other herbs ( colors, scents) because the Eucalypts was too strong. My skin was dry and itchy. I tried citrus (yellow bottle) and it was too weak, the bumps were coming back. Then I tried tea tree (orange bottle) and it seemed to be a better fit. When I ran out of the tea tree castile , I decided to try the tea tree sugar soap and it was perfect! As I suspected it is made a differently than the castile soaps and the ingredients do not leave my skin dry.
INGREDIENTS
Organic Sucrose*, Organic White Grape Juice, Organic Coconut Oil*, Organic Palm Kernel Oil*, Potassium Hydroxide**, Organic Olive Oil*, Organic Tea Tree Oil, Organic Shikakai Powder, Organic Hemp Oil, Organic Jojoba Oil, Citric Acid, Tocopherol
*CERTIFIED FAIR TRADE INGREDIENTS
**None remains after saponifying oils into soap & glycerin.
Every once in a while I use fine Himlayan salt and water as a scrub.
To see everything Bronner's has to offer visit their website.
I currently use the Tea Tree sugar soap for my face and body. Followed by Neutrogena Naturals brightening Moisturizer for my face. This moisturizer has lemon in it which works well with tea tree. Also leaves my face matter and ready for make up. I use Nivea Essentially enriched lotion for my body. Best combination lotion for dry skin ever!
As a teen used always pads and as an adult I opted to use o.b. ob tampons are small require no applicator and and absorb for long periods of time. It was not until 5 years ago that a friend mentioned something called a Deva Cup to me. I did not take the extra step of reading up about them like I intended back then.
Organic everything has swept the nation. After so many years of being uninformed I wanted to get informed and make a change. On my quest for organic cotton tap on and pads I spotted Deva Cup on the shelf! I was nervous and certainly had no plans to spend 30 dollars but I am interested in visiting the option in the near future.

Nikky and I both had the veggie scramble. I had the dish with no egg. It was great. This place is known for the raspberry lemonade according to the reviews I read. I had some and I was not disappointed.
The cinnamon roll was a special item that day. The french toast was delightful. We sat by the fireplace. This place was cozy and the service was good. People were sitting on the patio in DEC! There were fire pits on the patio however, I still think it was too cold to sit outside.

Pizza Bar is located within Macy's.
For NikkRich Bday I tried Confections bakery for the first time. My cup cake was very good. The butter cream icing was delightful but it was piled high and too much for me. I purchased a strawberry cupcake for myself (my favorite) and mint chocolate chip for NikkRich. She loves mint and it happened to be the featured flavor.
If you ask for gift wrap for a dollar more they will put your cupcake in a single serving container and place a bow on it.
This place is just as good as Sprinkles. Check out my trip to Sprinkles Cup Cake ATM in Atlanta from July by clicking here.
Since the soft launch of the Perfect Head Tie in August 2017. I have discovered tips to make the scarf more effective.
I use the product everyday primarily because it is winter. In the cold months I like to keep my head covered until I arrive inside of my destination.
Using the scarf with the shiny shade facing the world absorbs water. Using the scarf with the shiny side facing you preserves shine. For example: To lay edges on the way to work with gel on dry hair make sure the shiny side is facing you. Video demonstrations will be on the way soon!
The semester has ended. The final visitors to MCOM 350 Business Communication included Pedro Perez also known as Luxurious Barber and and intimate video lecture with Georgette Pierre.

Make-Up I was left with ...Three old lip products and a new highlighter I happened to have in my purse. 3/15/17
My mom gave me this, which ironically was the same design of my missing. 3/16/17
At 3am I wanted to go shopping. The only place open was Wal-Mart 3/17/2017. Haul 1 $50. The foundation I found at my moms house, the Cover Girl eyeshadow and elf concealer I used before. Everything else would be a new experience. I also ordered some lipstick online.
Donation! From Alicia ...my friend came over and gave me these items from her Ipsy box. She suspected the shades would not fit her and never opened them. Plus some brushes and Clinique acne solution foundation! I always wanted to try Clinique foundation. 4/17/17
I had two identical make up cases. When I got back to my house one was waiting for me. The newer case was the one I kept home, so it was great to see this familiar design when I ran to my closet. I was so nervous to open it because I was not sure exactly what was in it.The great new was I had some make up in it all brand new! Mainly fun things I planned to use at photo shoots not really for daily wear. I purchased the items from a grocery store that had clearance mark down about a month prior for about $30 total 4/18/2017
I picked up the e.l.f. Mist & Set, I have not used since last summer 2016 but I remember loving it it. The flawless concealer brush was a replacement brush. The pointed and angled brush by e.l.f. was a first time try. 3/18/17
The Color Pop cosmetics arrived! I had the pleasure of using their lipstick since my sister gave me a few. This was my first time ordering for myself and I really love the packaging. Click on the picture below to see more from Color Pop. 4/21/2017.
I found an eyeliner in my computer bag! 4/22/2017
Donation! From SLVixxen!! Highlights from this donation include my first MAC brush #187! What an honor to get my first stipple brush from my make-up artist!! She also gave me the limited edition color pop eye shadow (Birthday Boy) and replaced of my favorite concealer. She has a wealth of make-up knowledge. If you need Face Time classes or your face done for a special occasion contact her.

Let me tell you about this girl hugging me. She is my sister. She goes by NikkRich these days. There was a time where all I thought about was my education and my sister. I even took her to college with me; the place where she fell in love with photography. Many say we look and act alike however, we are complete opposites. Everything that we do compliments each other and adds to each other. We both carry cameras but I am far from a photographer. I long for the movement of video. Our creative processes are also light years apart.
When we are together the question we always hear is, “Who is older? Are you two twins?” No, we are nine years apart. I am always the first to blurt out the answer. My spirit is young and her demeanor is mature. On my quest to become who I am today I never imagined she would play such a large role in my career.
The work she has done and continues to do with and for me is invaluable for several reasons. The first being her passion for her craft, the second, her natural eye for getting what I need with little or no description, and last her technical skills. She is priceless to me that is why she is NikkRich (outside the reach that they are both abbreviations of her first and last name). She is rich in spirit, rich in drive and full of love.
We took this photo after a dinner party in DC. The ladies that she worked with for the DC Latin Creatives Project had a gathering. She was the youngest at the table. Yet there seemed to be no divide in content or interests. Cheers to NikkRich, this lovely self-portrait, fun mini shoot and sisterhood.
